Video & audio

Compress, trim, convert and extract audio from video - on your own device.

Video tools that run entirely in your browser: shrink a clip to fit email or Discord, cut it to the moment you need, change its format, turn it into a GIF or pull out the audio as MP3. Nothing is uploaded, so there's no queue and no file leaves your device.

What's in this suite

Most online video tools upload your file to a server, process it in a queue and send it back. These use the video encoder and decoder already built into your browser instead, usually on your graphics hardware, so private recordings never leave your computer or phone and long videos aren't limited by your upload speed. The suite covers the everyday jobs: the Video Compressor hits an exact target size such as 25 MB for Gmail or 10 MB for Discord, the Video Trimmer cuts instantly and losslessly or frame-accurately, the Video Converter changes MOV, WebM and MKV into MP4 (repackaging without re-encoding whenever the codecs allow), Video to GIF makes looping GIFs at a size you choose, and Video to MP3 extracts the soundtrack as MP3 or WAV.

Common workflows

Common pairings: Video Trimmer then Video Compressor to send just the highlight under an email or chat limit. Video Converter then Video Trimmer to cut an iPhone MOV or OBS MKV after turning it into MP4. Video Trimmer then Video to GIF for a looping reaction or UI demo. Video to MP3 when only the sound of a lecture, interview or meeting matters - the audio alone is a fraction of the video's size.

Frequently asked

Quick answers about the video & audio suite.

Are my videos uploaded to a server?

No. Every video tool here runs in your browser using its built-in video decoder and encoder. Your file is read from your device and the result is created on your device, so nothing is uploaded, stored or seen by anyone else.

How large a video can I use?

Up to 1 GB for the trimmer and converter, 500 MB for the compressor and GIF maker, and 200 MB for Video to MP3. Videos are read from disk as needed, but results are built in memory, so very large files are easiest on a computer.

Which browsers work?

Recent versions of Chrome, Edge, Safari and Firefox on computers, iPhone and Android. They all include the WebCodecs video encoder the tools rely on; if a browser can't encode video, the tool says so rather than failing silently.

Why are some conversions instant?

When a video only needs a new container or a cut on existing data, the tools copy the compressed video without re-encoding it. That is how a MOV becomes an MP4 or a clip is trimmed in a second or two with no loss of quality.

Is there a watermark or time limit?

No watermark, no account and no daily limit. The only caps are the file sizes above, which protect your device's memory.
