Compress Images Features
- 100% private — Compression runs inside your browser using a canvas — your images never leave your device. Safe for personal photos and KYC scans.
- Live before / after — Compare original and compressed side-by-side with a draggable slider. Tweak quality and the result updates in real time.
- Batch + ZIP — Drop a whole folder of images at once. Download individually or grab all of them as a single ZIP archive.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much smaller will my image be?
Typical reductions: 50–80% smaller for JPEGs, 30–60% for PNGs. WebP often beats both. The exact savings depend on the image content (photos compress more than illustrations) and the quality preset you pick.
Will my image lose quality?
Quality is your call. "Max compress" (40%) trades the most quality for the smallest file. "Web optimized" (75%) is the sweet spot for most uses. "High quality" (90%) keeps images sharp for printing or detailed work.
Can I compress an image to a specific size like 100 KB or 50 KB?
Yes — use "Max compress" preset or pull the quality slider down. Most photos can be compressed below 100 KB while staying clean. For exam-form passport photos (often capped at 20–50 KB), Max compress + a width of 200–300 px usually nails it.
Can I convert between formats?
Yes. Drop a JPG and pick PNG output, or drop a PNG and pick WebP. The conversion happens during compression, so you always get the smaller file.
Does it resize images too?
Yes. Toggle "Resize images" and enter a width or height in pixels. With "Maintain aspect ratio" on, you can leave one dimension empty and the other fills automatically.
What about EXIF / metadata?
Canvas-based compression naturally strips EXIF — camera info, GPS coordinates, and capture timestamps are all removed. The toggle is informational; the metadata is gone either way once the canvas processes it.
Is my image data safe?
Yes. Compression runs entirely in your browser using the canvas API — your photos, their metadata, and the compressed output never leave your device. Safe for sensitive content like passport photos, ID scans, KYC documents, and screenshots.
What's the maximum file size per image?
100 MB per image. The cap exists because everything runs in your browser — much bigger files can stress your device's memory while the canvas processes them.
