Frequently Asked Questions
How do I write a payment reminder email?
Fill in the client's name, your name, the invoice number, the amount and the due date, and add a payment link or UPI ID. The tool writes four emails: one 3 days before the due date, one on the due date, one 7 days late and a final notice 14 days late. Each has a subject line and a short WhatsApp version. Copy one or open it in your mail app.
When should I send each reminder?
The tool suggests 3 days before the due date, on the due date, 7 days after it and 14 days after it for the final notice, which asks for payment within 7 more days. The dates are worked out in your own calendar, and Add to calendar downloads all four as a calendar file.
What does the tone slider change?
Friendly assumes the invoice slipped through and keeps it light. Balanced is polite and asks for a payment date. Firm is short and formal and sets deadlines. The invoice facts are the same in every tone; only the wording, the ask and the sign-off change.
Does the tool send the emails for me?
No. It writes them. Open in mail app hands the subject and email to your own mail app through a mailto link, and the WhatsApp button opens WhatsApp with the message ready so you pick the chat. Nothing is uploaded, and the form is saved only in your browser.
What is the MSME 45-day payment rule?
Section 15 of the MSMED Act, 2006 says a buyer must pay a micro or small enterprise supplier by the date agreed in writing, and the agreed period can never be more than 45 days from acceptance of the goods or services. Without an agreement, payment is due within 15 days of acceptance. Section 16 makes a late payer liable for compound interest, with monthly rests, at three times the bank rate notified by the Reserve Bank of India.
Can I use the MSMED Act line in my final notice?
Only if you are a supplier under the Act: a micro or small enterprise registered with the MSME authority, which today means Udyam Registration. Medium enterprises are not covered by these sections. The tool's line is optional and only goes in the final notice. It is not legal advice, so check your own case with a professional.
Which currencies does it support?
Indian rupees by default, plus US dollars, euros, pounds, UAE dirhams, and Australian, Canadian and Singapore dollars. The amount is written in each currency's own style, for example ₹1,25,000 or $1,250.50.
