Flatten PDF Signatures

Signatures added as annotations can be deleted by anyone with a PDF editor - undermining the value of eSigning. Flatten the signature into the page content and it becomes permanently embedded, just like a printed-and-scanned signature would be.

When to use this

Use after using our Sign PDF tool: flatten before sending the final signed PDF to the counterparty. Useful for legally-distributed signed contracts, NDAs, employment letters - anywhere signature integrity matters.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does flattening invalidate a digital signature?

Cryptographic digital signatures (DSC, Aadhaar eSign): yes, flattening would invalidate. Don't flatten those. Visual / eSign annotations (drawn/typed signatures placed on the PDF): safe to flatten - they have no cryptographic verification anyway.
