Does my PDF or signature get uploaded anywhere?
No. pdf-lib loads, modifies, and re-saves your PDF entirely in your browser. Drawn strokes, typed signatures, uploaded images, and saved templates all live in your local browser only — they never touch a CleverTools server.
Can I draw, type, or upload my signature?
All three. Draw freehand with mouse or touch (Apple Pencil works great), type your name and pick a cursive / serif / monospace font, or upload an existing signature image (PNG with transparent background scans the cleanest).
Can I save my signature for next time?
Yes — save up to five signature templates locally. They persist in your browser's localStorage so they're available the next time you open the tool. Delete or rename anytime.
What about initials and date stamps?
The Stamps section (left column) takes initials like 'JS' and renders a small bold serif stamp for marking page corners. The 'Use today's date' button drops a `DD MMM YYYY` stamp ready to place beside your signature — exactly the format Indian and international counterparts expect.
Is an electronic signature legally valid in India?
A drawn / typed signature added via this tool carries the same legal weight as a hand-signed scan in most contexts — rental agreements, NDAs, employment letters, vendor contracts. For Aadhaar-eSign / DSC-grade signatures (income tax filings, court submissions), use the dedicated UIDAI eSign portal — those carry stronger evidentiary proof.
Can I sign multiple pages of the same document?
Yes. Each placed signature, initials, or date stamp is tied to its page. Use the page navigator above the preview to move between pages and drop stamps on each one. Page-by-page list of placements lets you spot-check before saving.
What's the maximum file size?
Up to 50 MB per PDF. Because everything runs locally, the practical limit is your device's RAM — most laptops handle 100+ page contracts comfortably. The signed output preserves the original PDF's quality (signatures are embedded as PNG, not rasterised over the page).
