Frequently Asked Questions
How do I calculate the number of days between two dates?
Pick a start date and an end date. The calculator subtracts the two calendar dates and shows the total days, the same gap in weeks and days, and in years, months and days. For example, 8 Nov 2026 to 31 Dec 2026 is 53 days, or 7 weeks and 4 days.
Should I include the end date?
By default the end date is not counted, so the same date twice is 0 days. Tick Include the end date when you count days you are present, like leave or an event: leave from Monday to Friday is then 5 days. For hotel nights, leave it unticked.
How are working days counted?
Working days skip Saturdays and Sundays (Monday to Friday). Tick Saturday is a working day for a six-day week. Public and bank holidays are not removed, because they differ by state and employer, so take them off yourself.
What is 31 January plus one month?
28 February, or 29 February in a leap year. When the same day doesn't exist in the target month, the calculator uses that month's last day instead of spilling into March, and shows a note when this happens. Subtracting works the same way: 31 March minus one month is 28 February.
Does it handle leap years and time zones?
Yes. Leap years follow the Gregorian rule (every 4th year, except century years not divisible by 400, so 2000 was a leap year and 1900 was not). Dates are counted as whole calendar days, so your time zone and daylight saving never add or lose a day.
What if the end date is before the start date?
The calculator counts backwards and says so. The number of days is the same as with the dates swapped. Use the swap button to flip them.
Is this the same as the age calculator?
No. This tool counts the gap between any two dates and adds or subtracts dates. To find out exactly how old someone is, with the next birthday and more, use the Age Calculator.
Do date ke beech kitne din hain kaise nikale?
Start date aur end date chuniye: tool turant kul din, hafte aur din, aur saal, mahine aur din dikhata hai. Aakhri din bhi ginna ho to Include the end date tick kijiye. Sirf working days chahiye to Working days only tick kijiye.
