Profile Picture Resizer

Each social platform has its own preferred profile-picture size. Upload one photo and resize for LinkedIn (400x400, displays as circle), Facebook (170x170 display / 400x400 upload), X/Twitter (400x400, displays as circle), Instagram (320x320), WhatsApp (640x640), GitHub (460x460). Square crop preview shows how the platform will display it.

When to use this

Use to: prep a new profile shot for every platform at once, swap to a clean square crop after a 4:5 portrait session, replace an old low-res profile photo with a fresh upload meeting current platform specs.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do platforms re-crop or re-compress my profile pic?

All of them re-compress to their own JPEG quality and many crop to a circle when displaying. Upload as a square (any size 400-1000px works) at high quality and the platform will handle the circle crop client-side.

What background works best for profile photos?

Solid or low-detail backgrounds (a plain wall, soft natural light, blurred outdoors) photograph and compress better than busy backgrounds. If your photo has a busy background, run it through our Background Remover first, then resize.
