How does PDF cropping work?
The tool changes each page's CropBox - the rectangle that defines what's actually rendered when the PDF is opened. The original page content is preserved underneath, so quality is never reduced; only the visible area is trimmed.
Can I apply different crops to different pages?
The current version applies one crop to either the selected page or all pages. For different crops on different pages, process them one at a time - load the PDF, crop one page, download, then go back and crop the next.
Does cropping reduce file size?
Not significantly. Cropping changes the visible area but doesn't strip the underlying page content. For a smaller file, run the cropped output through our Compress PDF tool - it can typically shave 40-80%.
Will the cropped PDF print correctly?
Yes. Most printers and viewers respect the CropBox, so they'll only print the visible area. If a viewer ignores the CropBox (rare), you can flatten the crop using a print-to-PDF pass.
